Statement of support for savefilm from FIAF
FIAF (the International Federation of Film Archives) calls on UNESCO to recognise film as a unique and significant medium of cultural expression that has shaped humankind’s understanding of the world on a global scale, and to protect it under their 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions or any other convention that may be deemed more appropriate. The Federation formally agreed to support this campaign through a vote of its General Assembly in Barcelona on 27 April 2013.
